Principal’s welcome
Thank you for taking the time to learn about Fairfield Primary School.
We are very proud of our school and the achievements of our students, staff, and community. Every day, we are inspired by the effort, focus, and accomplishments of our students. We deeply appreciate the dedication of our staff, who work tirelessly to provide the best possible learning and wellbeing outcomes. We are also grateful for the strong support and engagement of our families, which helps make our school such a connected and vibrant place.
At Fairfield Primary School, we use evidence-informed teaching practices to ensure that every child thrives in a purposeful and productive learning environment. You can read more about our approach to:
Teaching and learning at FPS
We are committed to creating a welcoming, inclusive, and connected environment where students feel safe, supported, and challenged. Our historic school building, established in 1885, continues to impress visitors as a ‘living museum’. Today, we are proud to have approximately 530 students across 24 straight-grade classes. Each child enjoys five specialist subjects each week — French, Performing Arts, Physical Education, Science, and Visual Arts — as well as targeted programs such as Literacy Support, the Tutor Learning Initiative, and the Student Excellence Program.
There is much to celebrate at Fairfield Primary School, including our commitment to:
Engaging and challenging students in their learning.
Building strong, positive relationships between students, staff, and families.
Delivering exceptional specialist programs.
Offering a wide range of extracurricular opportunities, from choir and band, to concerts and alternative sports.
