Information for parents
Get involved
There are always a range of opportunities for parents to get involved in their child’s learning and in our dynamic school community.
Classroom, sports, concerts and camps
We are really proud of our vibrant school community and value the partnership that exists between families and the school. At Fairfield Primary School we encourage involvement, with many parents (and even grandparents) welcoming the opportunity to participate in their child’s learning. There are many ways to volunteer and get involved:
Assisting with classroom.
Assisting with school camps.
Accompanying class excursions.
Attending sporting events and other performances.
Attending parent information evenings, family nights and assemblies.
School community events
Beyond the classroom, we provide opportunities for families to establish and maintain connections with each other. We hold a number of community events – most of which are organised and run by parents – that focus on building relationships between the school and the broader community. These events include:
Welcome picnic & end of year picnic
Parent social events (year level meetups, coffee mornings, etc.)
ART FOR ALL (weekend art show hosted by Fairfield Primary School)
Parent trivia night
School Council
For parents who wish to be involved in the management of the school’s direction at a strategic level, we encourage you to consider a role on the School Council, or in one of its sub-committees.
Volunteering at Fairfield Primary School
Fairfield Primary School is dedicated to ensuring all children are safe, happy, and respected in an inclusive environment that values diversity. The school takes all concerns about safety and wellbeing seriously – including that of child abuse – by identifying and reducing risks early. Keeping children safe is everyone’s responsibility, including that of our volunteers.
All volunteers at our school:
Need a Working with Children Check to comply with the Department of Education Child Safe Standard mandates.
Are required to complete a short Volunteer Child Safety Induction. Please read and become familiar with the following Fairfield Primary School policies and procedures.
A hard copy of this Volunteer Child Safety Induction is available at the school office – contact the office for a copy.
