Year 5: Open Afternoon
We warmly invite you to an open afternoon in our Year 5 classrooms to celebrate a wonderful term of learning. Our classrooms will be open on Wednesday 24 June, from 3 – 3:30pm.
Students will be sharing highlights from their Australian History unit, with a particular focus on the Victorian Gold Rush. They will also proudly present their published historical fiction pieces.
Colour Fun Run
Get ready for a day of colour, laughter, obstacles, and FUN – Fairfield Primary School’s very first fundraising Colour Fun Run is coming.
Students will take part in a non-competitive run and walk course around the school grounds, complete with colourful powder stations, obstacles, challenges, and plenty of surprises along the way. No timers, no pressure – just lots of school spirit and fun.
Our teachers will also have the opportunity to take on the course in a special teacher run… with a fun role reversal where the School Captains will be in charge of throwing the colour powder at the teachers!
To top it all off, selected students from each year level will take part in the ultimate grand finale – sliming the principal in front of the whole school.
What are we raising funds for?
Funds raised will help transform the yard space between the netball court and the Fairfield Road building. Planned improvements include asphalt replacement, new garden beds, decking, bench seating and permeable paving to create a safer, greener, and more welcoming outdoor space for students to enjoy all year round.

CSEF Applications Due
The Camps, Sports and Excursions Fund (CSEF) helps eligible families with the costs of camps, sporting activities and excursions/incursions.
To apply, please submit an application by Friday 26 June.

Trivia Night
Dive into a night of Disney & Pixar animated movie magic!
Join us for trivia battles, plenty of laughs, delicious canapés, a live auction, and music from our very own parent band, North Side Hustle – all to power up the school’s yard redevelopment!
Event details:
Trivia Night:Saturday 13 June, doors open at 6pm, trivia starts at 7pm
Where: The Centre Ivanhoe
Theme: Disney & Pixar animated movies
Tickets: $72 per person, including a $20 canapé package (BYO not permitted)

Wear it Yellow Day
On Friday 5th June, staff and students at FPS will be participating in 'Wear it Yellow Day' to raise funds for Children’s Ground.
Each year we show up in our brightest yellow clothes and accessories as a community and fundraise for Children's Ground, a not-for-profit organisation that supports First Nations children and families to have a bright future.

We are excited to announce that a single live auction will be held at Trivia night, proudly hosted by Nelson Alexander Northcote. The feature item is an Ultimate Indulgence Package, valued at $2,900, with a stunning centrepiece (see below) generously donated by Simon West Fine Jewellery.
On the night, we will accept:

Proxy bids (for those unable to attend)

Uniquely radiant, the Collins Diamond Stud Earrings embody the understated glamour of the Art Deco era. Crafted in 18ct white gold and set with a total of 0.58ct round brilliant‑cut diamonds (EF/SI quality), these earrings exude timeless elegance and sophistication. They are valued at $2,550.
As an alternative, the winning bidder may choose a $2,000 Simon West voucher instead.

Order ART FOR ALL T-Shirts
The 2026 ART FOR ALL t-shirt is a one-of-a-kind creative collaboration between our brilliant Grade 6 students and the wonderfully talented FPS parent, Claire!
The design draws on the work of Albert and Vincent Namatjira, the two Australian artists at the heart of this year's Visual Arts program. Albert Namatjira (1902–1959) was an Arrernte painter from Central Australia whose vivid watercolour landscapes – ghost gums, red earth, mountain ranges in impossible purples and pinks – changed what Australian art could look like. His great-grandson Vincent is one of Australia's most celebrated contemporary artists, known for portraits bursting with colour, personality, and wit. In 2020 he became the first Indigenous artist to win the Archibald Prize.
